En 2007, lors d’une résidence à St Cirq Lapopie, je travaillais sur mon incompréhension au fait que j’allais à St Cirq.

 

Comprenant que je devais aller à St Cyr, non à St Cirq, pensant à St Cyr sur Mer et apprenant du même coup l’existence de plusieurs St Cyr en France, je collectionnais les plaquettes touristiques de ces différents St Cyr et les plaçais au sein de l’office de tourisme de St Cirq.

 

Ainsi, durant le temps de l’action, les touristes qui allaient à l’office de tourisme de St Cirq retrouvaient les informations touristiques (bons plans restos, musées à voir, etc.) des autres St Cyr.

 

De plus, sur le site même de St Cirq, il se trouve qu’il existe une photo en noir et blanc du site de St Cirq devant le site de St Cirq.

Aussi pris-je la photo de la photo de St Cirq au moment où le site de St Cirq est «brûlé» par le soleil couchant alors que la photo du site, elle, reste intact.

Cette photo fut ensuite vendue aux touristes sous la forme d’une carte postale sur le site même de St Cirq Lapopie.

 

Enfin, la photo «Hors service» (ci-dessus) est un projet prenant en considération l’existence d’un belvédère sur le site de St Cirq, un point de vue nous désignant où/quoi regarder...

 

Jouant avec les désirs des touristes et l’image de ce village, je soulève la question qui est de savoir si nous nous trouvons réellement où nous pensons nous trouver ?

Playing with the desires of tourists and the image of this town, I raise the question is whether we really find where you think you know us?
